Part of Gallery Lates

Presented as part of TULCA 2026 and Galway Arts Centre’s Gallery Lates programme, TULCA Education Coordinator Aoife Natsumi Frehan will lead a workshop exploring works by Ciara Rodgers and Saidhbhín Gibson.

Through our Mothertongue +/ English

TULCA Education Coordinator Aoife Natsumi Frehan will guide a discussion around the works of two artists, Ciara Rodgers and Saidhbhín Gibson.

Taking time to consider the materials used, methods of display, and what these communicate to us as viewers, the workshop will explore the conversations these works can open up. Aoife Natsumi will guide the group through this discussion.

Participants will be invited to respond to the works in their preferred language and share their responses with the group. The workshop will explore how language and cultural context can shape the way we understand and interpret a work, and how those interpretations may shift when they are shared or translated.

All levels of interest in the arts are welcome to this workshop. You do not need to speak multiple languages to take part in this workshop.

Free, no booking required
