Engage Artist Studios

126 Artist-Run Gallery and Studios

Established in 2005, 126 Artist-Run Gallery is an artist-led, not for profit organisation which produces high-quality professional contemporary exhibitions and cultural programming which are free and open to all. Run voluntarily by a Board of Directors, professional artists and curators,126 is integral to the visual arts ecology and cultural landscape of Galway.

126 programmes include artist talks/lectures, workshops, residencies, studio spaces and upskilling opportunities for Galway.

126 was founded on a democratic structure, in which power flows from the membership to the Board of Directors. Membership provides a platform for individuals to connect with a larger network of professional artists. There are around 200 members at any given time.

Engage Artist Studios

Founded in 2004 Engage is a professional visual arts organisation of over 30 members. It is an integral part of the Galway visual arts scene. Engage Art Studios is the largest studio group in Galway city, with six studios located in St. Francis Street in the heart of the city and a further seven located in their premises in Churchfields Lower Salthill.

Engage features 13 private studios, a gallery space and a fully equipped office and digital suite and workshop. Studios range in size from 80 to 260 sq. feet. Engage also offers Orbital membership, which allows access to their facilities and to exhibitions.
