A treasure trove of wonders where old books flock together.

About the Show

The Magic Bookshop is a treasure trove of wonders where old books flock together and their stories hop from the pages. Peter and John work at the new arrivals desk where great heaps of books need to be sorted, categorised, and sometimes sent to the dreaded shredder. Join these two friends as they try their best to breathe new life into each book without losing any of its unique magic.

Please bring a gently used book with you to swap after the show.

Seating: Benches

Company Background

Initially a street theatre company creating interactive impromptu theatre on the streets of Northern Ireland, Monkeyshine has established a strong reputation as a pioneer in children’s theatre. Their work is inspired by the quirks of human nature, the rhythms of the natural world and the universal themes of life that connect us all. They are storytellers at heart, intrigued by the timeless structures of celebration and ritual, and the depth of myths and legends. Monkeyshine works as an ever-changing ensemble of artists, telling stories, making music, building sets, sewing costumes and crafting their very own brand of theatre.
