Vicky works with paint, drawing, printmaking, photography, video collages, assemblage sculptures and installation. She will develop this work in a multifaceted way with the Red Bird Youth Collective as they continue developing work in response to themes of the City, Body and Identity. She will facilitate a series of drawing and textile workshops, involving drypoint etchings printed on fabric, stitching into printed cyanotypes on fabric, video collages, collage, multidisciplinary experimental fabric sculptures and monochromatic painting workshops based on the photographs and research the group have gathered in the first part of the project with Ruby Wallis. This will be led by the collective in an organic way.

Vicky Smith is a multidisciplinary process-based artist & educator from Galway City. Her practice experiments with painting, printmaking, film, photography, assemblage sculptures and installation. She teaches at Engage Art Studios and Galway Technical Institute Fine Art Drawing Techniques for Beginners. She is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and is the Education Coordinator and studio member at Engage Art Studios.
