Celebrate Record Store Day on the Dott Carousel

On Record Store Day, April 18th 2015, Galway band Dott will release “Carousel”, a split vinyl record with California band Night School.  To celebrate the release, Dott are putting on a Record Store Day party at Galway Arts Centre on Saturday April 18th where copies of “Carousel” will be available to buy exclusively. Also appearing on the night are Oh Boland, Zinc, Boyfights and Tracy Bruen.

Doors will open at 6pm with first band on at 6:30. This will be an over 18’s event with admission of €7.

Fitting together perfectly on this split 12″ Carousel are the shiny, harmony-driven garage pop/rock melodies of Ireland’s Dott and Northern California’s Night School. Though hailing from opposite sides of the Atlantic, the music from these two groups is a match made in… well… Savannah, GA, home to shared label Graveface Records. Dott recently returned from a full US tour with their label mates Night School, taking in appearances at the famous SXSW Festival, Austin Texas.

Record Store Day is an annual event, founded in 2007, held on the third Saturday of April each year to to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store.[1] The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world.[2] A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, and are only distributed to shops participating in the scheme.
