Our opening film, IN THE NGUYEN KITCHEN, follows Vietnamese-French aspiring actress Yvonne, who dreams of playing the lead in a stage musical. When she breaks up with her boyfriend, she moves back in with her traditional mother ‘Ma’. Ma wants Yvonne to take over the family Vietnamese restaurant. However, a potentially life-changing opportunity arises when Yvonne advances through the audition stages of a new musical about Casanova.
