Performance art collective Fite Fuaite will host a process-led closed workshop followed by scheduled live performances as part of Still We Gather. The event will take place in Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre, with performances beginning at 3:00pm, on the 17th of January 2026.
Fite Fuaite, meaning intertwined or interconnected in Irish, was founded in April 2025 by Emily Lohan and Ciara Corscadden Hennessy and consists of members Jamie Bigley, Noel Arrigan and Dagda Semler. The collective began with a curated performance art event, Fite Fuaite, in 126 Artist-run Gallery & Studios, and has since expanded into a series of monthly performance art meet-ups. These meet-ups function as a platform for performance artists to test ideas, improvise, and build community through the medium of live art. Fite Fuaite is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where collaboration can evolve organically.
Closed Performance Art Workshop
The workshop will follow a dialogical artist-led approach to performance art. Rather than being outcome-driven, the workshop prioratises process, creating a space for artists to engage in embodied dialogue, collective exploration and reflection. The workshop is closed and primarily intended for Fite Fuaite members and invited guest artists, however, artists working through the medium of performance art who feel aligned with this approach and wish to participate are welcome to get in touch with Fite Fuaite at ffuaite@gmail.com
Afternoon of Performances
Following the workshop, the space will be open for an afternoon of scheduled performance art works, beginning at 3:00pm. These performances will feature Fite Fuaite artists alongside special guest performance artists, presenting a range of live art practices.
