Bloomsday Lecture: The Reception of Ulysses, Then, Later and Now.

In this free Bloomsday event,  Prof. Brian Arkins will deliver a lecture  entitled The Reception of Ulysses, Then, Later and Now.

Brian Arkins is Professor emeritus of classics at NUI Galway. He was educated at Clongowes Wood college and at University College Dublin, where he obtained an M.A in Classics and a PhD in Latin. He is the author of 12 books of criticism. These include 3 books on Latin literature, 2 on Yeats, and 1 on Joyce. He is also the author of the first full length studies of the Irish poets James Liddy and Desmond Egan. Dr. Arkins is also the author of 150 journal articles. He has recently published a collection of his own poems, Towards A Credo.
