THE HOLLOWS
Dublin Lo-fi folksters The Hollows.
Having formed in 2001, the hollows are no strangers to Galway.
The duos beautiful blend of folk, pop and electronica can lure any worries
away.’ The Hollows’ have released a number of records. Most recently they
released their full length debut album “It was on fire when I lay down on
It”. The album, recorded and produced at home with Steve Fanagan
(Northstation), is collection of gentle folkish songs, which sees guitars,
organs, piano and drums meld seamlessly with soft electronics and warm
vocals. It comes packaged in hand-made artwork, created by the band
themselves.
“…While there are many acts who try to patrol similar terrain, few can
demonstrate as confident a touch with their material and craft as
O’Brien and Morrison.”
Jim Carroll – The Ticket

‘The Hollows’ are due to release their new ep “Broken notes for
winter homes” in late November.
They have played before Six Organs of Admittance, Final Fantasy and
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.

MIRAKIL WHIP

They most recently played the Mc Donaghs
building as part of Artisit[3] and supported Our Brother The Native on
some of there Irish gigs. This duo are constantly evolving and feel
there musical journey has just begun.
Their new sound is a departure from there earlier drum machine heavy days.
The use of much more instruments (including chime
bars, banjo, accordion, synth, live sampling hardware, pedals and dual
vocals).
has expanded their sonic terrain, imagine if Thoreau met Philip K.Dick and
they started a band.

It’s seldom on a Saturday you will have 3 acts from different genres coming
together to play and show visuals. There is definitely something exciting in
the air. Freed up from not having to work within the constraints of the
usual Saturday night out..but over early enough for those who cant live
without a party.
The event is 10 euros, tickets are limited
