John Kane | Ireland | Literature

Join John Kane, author of ‘I say OOH. You say AAH’ in an interactive, play-along spectacular, featuring donkeys with underpants.

John Kane creates books that cannot be read without the audience taking part. In this event he will talk about words that go together and some of his favourite forgotten animals. He will read from his debut picture book ‘I say OOH. You say AAH.’ An interactive, play-along spectacular, featuring donkeys with underpants. He will also read ‘What’s your Moobooboo Name?’, resulting in every child in the audience having a new name to take home, their Moobooboo name.

‘I say OOH. You Say AAH’ won the English Picture Book of the Year 2019. It also won the Children’s and Teen Choice Award in America, voted for by the kids themselves. It was shortlisted for An Post Irish Book Awards 2018 and appears in both BookTrusts Great Books Guide 2019 and the ILA Children’s Choice list for 2019.

John Kane is a writer and illustrator of picture books for young children. They are not like other picture books. His first book ‘I say OOH. You say AAH.’ won the English Picture Book Award 2019, the Children’s and Teen Choice Awards 2019 in America and the EOCT/SLS picture Book Award 2019. All of this was a very lovely surprise. John spent twelve years in Australia. But missed the rain. And the humour. During the day, John works in advertising, but maybe not for much longer. His next two books are coming soon.
