Zelig Theatre Presents WITNESS Two plays by Daniel Keene

24th – 28th FEBRUARY 2009 8pm
Following the hugely successful world premiere run of Pat McCabe’s Appointment in Limbo Zelig Theatre returns to the Galway stage presenting the Irish debut of acclaimed Australian playwright Daniel Keene.

WITNESS is comprised of two of Keene’s shorter plays, Dog and The Fire Testament. In Dog, a man beyond the brink revisits the day an imaginary dog drove him to insanity. In The Fire Testament, one man finds himself possessed by multiple voices of the survivors of a bloody civil war.
Keene’s violently poetic dramas explore the depths of human suffering and endurance.
Performed by Brendan Ryan and directed by Aoife Spillane-Hinks, this is a limited run in Nun’s Island intimate space.
Zelig Theatre was founded by Cathal Cleary and Ronnie Quinn in 2006. Previous productions include The Cripple of Inishmaan, Appointment in Limbo, The Donahue Sisters & A Galway Girl, and The Factory Girls.
