Galway Arts Centre seeking internship for Visual arts Department:
The aim of the internship is to provide experience in order for candidates to then go on to paid employment and / or post graduate studies. Interns therefore will be required to work as part of a team and will be given tasks that increase their skills and knowledge.
Candidates should have an interest and enthusiasm for Visual Art. They should be willing to dedicate 3 days per week for 3 months and be computer literate. They should have strong communication skills and be dedicated and a team player.
Tasks include but are not limited:
Managing and executing an individual project. This can be working on an exhibition, event, education programme or body of research from start to finish.
Assisting with the programme – liaising with artists & other stakeholders, problem solving, research and communication.
Assisting Technical team on installations. General GAC duties: assisting other members of staff occasionally
All prospective interns are required to submit a CV (including a referee) and cover letter stating their specific area(s) of interest to maeve@galwayartscentre.ie by midnight Friday 9th September. The starting day is 19th September.
Please note this is an unpaid position.
