If you’re a complete beginner this is the sewing course for you. You will become a confident machinist while you sew a pin cushion, a tote bag and a patchwork cushion cover. This course will provide you with beginner level sewing skills, introducing you to sewing terminology, teaching you basic techniques and giving you the confidence to continue to develop your sewing skills on your own.
If you’re comfortable with your sewing machine basics but have yet to tackle a pattern, this is the course for you. We’ll sew a simple versatile top and you’ll learn how to alter the pattern so that it works as a wardrobe staple that you can wear for casual, formal and dressy occasions. You should have time to sew at least two versions of the top.
The course will cover how to read a pattern and alter it to fit. You will also learn how to set a sleeve, sew a facing and hem. At the end of the course you will have the basic sewing skills that will allow you to further develop your sewing skills on your own.
